There were an unexpectedly large number of high quality submissions for this competition. The judging panel spent many hours of intense debate and no fewer than 3 plenary sessions to decide the winner and runners up in the hotly fought contest…….

AND THE WINNER IS:

in Third place: “Those flying fish have nothing on this live bait” - Henny Cumming

in Second Place: “Que Hombres - but don’t give up the day jobs” - Judy Williamson

in FIRST PLACE: Melanie Earp with - “FREE WILLIES”

There was also a commended entry of “No need of a spinnaker pole then” from an anonymous Catholic blog reader!!! and “Ahoy there Mermaids” from the Fergusons and “Cocks (cox) are Steering” from James Barclay.

The grand prize committee of Peter Forbes, Willy Earp, Andrew Cumming and Clive Ross would like to take this opportunity to thank all the contributors to this Caption Competition. Firmly pants on from now on - lots of dangerous winding winches which could catch any flailing body parts!

We are making good progress and as dusk begins to fall this evening we have covered over 1650 miles and tomorrow we will have less than 1000 miles to go to St Lucia.
