So an eventful evening of hight winds, thunder and
lightning once again and a bit of rain. The lightning bolts were amazing! Forks
going across the sky.
In the very early morning we had really high winds,
first peaking above 35knots then went up to about 50 knots of wind. Main down,
Jib in. Just under a bit of engine to keep us steady down the
waves.
The wind has been increasing and decreasing
throughout the day but still alot of cloud cover.Very dull day. Havent had less
than 2 reefs in the main. At one point we reached 35knots again with what looked
like rain approaching, so to be on the safe side the main came down once again
and just went on 1/5 of the jib untill the wind settled down.
By about tea time i noticed a patch of blue sky
ahead of us. Unfortunatly that will be further than it seems as the clouds are
being blown in the same direction as we are going and at the moment there seems
to be more rain behind.
Now into the evening after Bacon and Pea risotto by
Rob the wind seems to be stable at around 30 knots. 3 reefs in the main and jib,
Had a little bit of rain but this evening looks promising. Today feels like we
have made up good ground. Averaging 7.5knots.
