Well, We left Bari, and sailed along pleasently for
a while... then of course this boat pulled its usual stunt... she threw a small
tantrum about the fact we were making good progress and snapped the strop
conecting the main halyard to the main sail and broke a lazy jack!!...I am quite
convinced that the Lady Marigot is not aware of the white sandy beaches
the hot tropical sunshine and the crystal clear blue seas that await
her in the carribbean!!! She is determined to stay in the med... unfortunately
for her we are also determined... I want a tan for christmas!!
So we pulled into brindisi..where we are
practically greated as locals by now.. it wasnt a long stop
though... baptism of fire for David we sent him straight up the
mast to bring down what was left of the halyard/pulley etc...
Back on our way it was a nice down wind leg round
the foot of italy sailing mainly on the genoa.. Then we hit an Armagedon style
lightning storm!!! the past two nights have actually been lightning.. we
seem to be stuck in this bad weather... today is raining and miserable.. Guti
said that he thinks its funny we refer to the weather as 'miserable', apparently
in spain they dont associate the weather with this emotion.... I said thats
becasue in southern spain the weather isnt miserable!!!!
Still, looking forward to some sunshine...
