We slipped our berth in Red Hook, St Thomas at 1740 UTC

Vectran appears to be regarded as a foreign language item and the choice was Dyneema or Dyneema and I have bought a length of that plus spare. Anxious to get going as quickly as possible I did not effect the replacement whilst we were in Red Hook. Having had only a couple of hours sleep last night to see us into the islands safely, I was too exhausted to cope with the boisterous conditions outsdie the islands whilst sorting the repair, so it will be done tomorrow.

Our forecast indicates a few days of very light winds so we have taken on a full tank of fuel, double what I had planned, so that we can keep the miles ticking over at higher, though less economic, revs and ensure our arrival in Miami on 21st for handover on 22nd (pm).

On Monday afternoon we had our third sighting of the same whale species we had seen on the two previous occasions. I am not sure which is less credible - that we should see the same individual whale three times over a distance of 750 miles or that we should see three solitary examples of the same species over that distance and time!
