Crazy weather!!!!

So the past few days we have been having really big winds and massive waves. All not predicted on our weather charts.

Everyone is looking pretty run down today, after a very bumpy night i dont think we all got the best of sleep.

Now today the wind has still be quite high, up into the 30knots. While Anthony was on watch and the rest of us were asleep it reached 38knots. So the main is fully down now and only going on 1/5 of the Jib. There are pretty hefty looking clouds ahead so staying just under Jib power going down the waves heading nearly direct North, untill we are through, and the bad weather has past. Then the plan is to tack and head more South to get our heading back on track.

On the plus side, with hardly any sail out it isnt as bumpy as we are just riding the waves, and also if it rains the boat will get a nice fresh water wash and get all this salt off!.

Today we saw a school of flying fish, or would you call this a flock?? who knows! and another sail boat has crossed our path. Hope they dont get caught in this weather aswell!

We had Jacket potatoes for lunch, pretty cool huh! and Warren is cooking us Pasta Carbonara tonight. Yum!

Its about 7.30pm and there is alot of thunder and lightning all around us, occasional fork lightning and the heavens have opened. We are tempted to have a quick shower but knowing our luck as soon as we get shampoo in the hair the rain will stop.Got the engine on to try and get out of it a bit quicker.... Were has this weather come from???

Midnight- 21' 52.9 N 037' 09.8 W Now heading South West, the lightning is still everywere, not even sure of were it is coming from, it is just lighting up the entire sky, Thunder is so loud and once again the rain is falling. The boat is definitly getting a good wash, even the inside floor is getting a good clean aswell. Its just soggy everywere. The cabins are so humid is this weather. Aparently on Anthonys watch he thought we had passed it all, even saw a star, which meant the skys are clearing up and then another batch has come through. Will this end??

This lightning has been very impressive. Fork lightning up in the clouds. But i think i would enjoy this storm alot more if i wasnt on a boat with a massive metal mast and in the middle of no were!!!
