Fantastic Friday

Fantastic friday?!
Its only 2 am and ive already been drenched by a wave.... oh well as they say 'things can only get wetter!!!?'

Today is Fantastic Friday because we will see the end of our upwind work for this trip. It is so nice when things go to plan - we were expecting to tack around 1200 UTC following a wind shift. We had a 70 degree shift after a front passed at first light (1000 UTC). Ahead was another line of rain cloud so we waited for that and had another 50 degree shift, tacked and now we are going to be progressively freed all through the day.

After supper last night (wors sausage and lentils - the best one yet!) we had a brief visit from dolphins during Alexa's watchjust before darkness fell.

Being able to top up on provisions and fresh produce in Bermuda has given a huge boost to our food options over the last few day of the trip. Yesterday Alexa did bacon, letttuce and tomato sandwiches for lunch. Spagetti carbonara and pasta with napolitana sauce as well as a Sicillian chicken are all coming up. On top of that we have fresh fruit again - the bananas have ripened nicely, the oranges are sweet, haven't tried the apples but the peaches are manky.

Tonight we are expecting big winds and lots of rain from dusk onwards but we will be running west downwind with only some headsail up so it should be nice and comfortable - and fast!
