What a night! We were expecting strong winds, rain
and lightning close to the centre of vigorous shallow low pressure system and we
certainly got it! What we were not expecting is that the low would not move
southeast as predicted, but east. With the big winds and swell we had last night
there was no option but to run before it and by daybreak we were headed
northeast - back to Europe. Not ideal.
Now we are headed west making way slowly. To the
north east there is a large area of rain cloud which I hope will bring the
easterlies we are looking for. Fingers crossed.
