Over the last few days, since we started messing with this low pressure system every (bar one) cloudburst/squall we have had has been on Katrina's watch. Poor girl! What a soaking! Now she wears full oilskins every watch. This morning I tacked to avoid getting under lightning (which happened to be companied by a prodigious downpour). Never mind that the tack put us into favourable current. Never mind that we avoided lightning. According to Katrina this boat has an all girl crew.

oh! my! god! the lightning!!!!!
Last night there was lightening of all colours and even tho lightning doesnt strike the water very often (according to anthony,) this was striking the sea alot..
luckily it passed infront of us and went down wind but man i thought i was
gonna fry... it looked like when the aliens blow up the white house in
Independence day it was blue then super bright orange... the sky was flashing all around purples and green and blues and it was awesome..
this morning i had fish jumping around big fat fish leaping out the water, guess  the lightning has a funny effect on sea creatures...and still Rene could not catch us some lunch... Less than 1000nm to cheaspeake bay, and today we have a nice wind and a favourable current taking us on a good broad reach down to Annapolos... We no longer have bright sunshine, so its a good job i worked on my tan when i did, we do keep having flash rsain, its drenched me once, but poor Katrina gets the brunt of most of it, every watch at the moment she ends up getting soaked..bless her...
well last week now...last stretch.. im down to 2 squares on chocolate a day..
take care y'all. x
