position 44:35N 064:10W East River Marine in Mahone
Bay near to Chester!
We sailed round to East River on Sunday and tied up
to the quay for the night. On Monday we stepped the mast and lifted Festina out
Magnus and Laura left in the afternoon and Julie and I got stuck in to cleaning
and winterising This is a complex affair as we can expect temperatures
minus 20/30 degrees ! We empty the water tanks and fill them with 20
gallons of vodka then pump the vodka through the water systems air con,
eberspacher heater,washing machine,check the fresh water in the engine and
generator for anti freeze concentration empty the boat of all cans and liquids
as they tend to explode! shrink wrap the cockpit and so the list goes on.We
stayed in a b&b in Chester and continued the work on Tuesday. In the
evening I drove Julie to the airport and she left for home via Iceland and
Manchester. Thanks for keeping me company and keeping me sane over this
difficult journey Wednesday and Thursday packing the boat up and I have a flight
home tomorrow.
So this is the end of my blogging until next
year.
