Arrived in Samana in the Doninican Republic DR for
short.
tricky night entrance following a great sail 270n
miles on a a beam reach in 20 knots of wind. This is arguably our best point of
sail. We sailed through the night something we havn't done since Grenada. 32 hrs
in total
This morning we left the anchorage to go looking
for whales.The season for Humpbacks in the Bahia De Samana is December to March
and we may be too late - but there were a number of whale watching boats going
out so fingers crossed. We will leave the Bay, with or without whales,this
afternoon to sail overnight toPuerto Plata which wil be our stepping stone to
the Bahamas. First we explore DR based in Ocean World Marina in Puerto
Plata.
