We finally arrived in Yacht Club Peruana Callao
Peru at 2300 hrs having travelled 1332 nmiles in seven and a half says.I have to
admit that we have become more of a motor boat recently!! but if you don't have
wind what else can you do? Incidently what happened to the Humboldt current?
(supposed to run at 2.5 knots Northerly) We had a slight current against on the
whole trip and the temperature of the water was too high so the current is not
there!! Why?
Yesterday and today we cleared all the jobs and are
now ready to explore Peru. Daria arrives tomorrow and then we set off for Cuzco
and Matchu Pichu.
The Peruvian officials were hard work and expensive
but the yacht club were fantastic. We are on a mooring with free water taxis to
take us ashore. There is a new fuel facility enabling us to refuel. We were not
looking foreward to transporting 1000 litres by jerry cans!!! Today we went
sightseeing in Lima.
