We are in Duncanby Bay having crossed Queen
Charlotte Sound yesterday. We diverted up Smith Sound to Burnt Island to see the
spectacular waterfall and glacier with Grizzly Bears catching salmon on the
banks. The water falls and glacier were about 50 miles away and I think the bears
were there also! Only one possible place to anchor and a sea plane had reserved
the spot. The only alternative was to retrace our steps and spend the night at
Duncanby Bay.We watched two Humpback whales on our approach. The marina - a
fishing resort - was good with a restaurant and fuel
quay.
