Tuesday we went to Caleta Mechuque,a small village
with a big fish farm in the middle of the bay.We dined in what was politely
referred to as a rustic restaurant and visited a small museum.Wednesday we
sailed to Caleta Porcelana to visit some thermal springs. It rained all day and
we had a lively sail in 35 knots picking up a mooring buoy for the night
Thursday we motored the final 75 nmiles to Puerto Montt, mooring in Marina del
Sur at1830.We were down to our last few litres of diesel. The distance from
Puerto Williams to Puerto Montt was 1507 n miles and we burnt 1700 litres of
diesel !!
