Arrived in Metlakaka yesterday and leaving for
Queen Charlotte at midnight.
Sunday night we were in Point Baker, Marta was
looking for the Author of "The Coastal Companion"Instead we found Jim Davis a
walking encyclopaedia in Alaska! He told us that the author - Joe Upton sold up
fifteen years ago and now lives in Maine. We went on a conducted tour of Point
Baker - By skiff.
Monday we arrived in Thorne Bay, where we met up
again with Jim and Karen on IMB (Its My Boat!) a very nice Gin Palace. We met
earlier in Petersburg. They liked our company so much that they decided to sail
with us to Metlakaka!! Not exactly sail and not exactly with us as they left two
hours after us and arrived two hours before us!! Still they had booked us into
the one and only restaurant (Tuck- em Inn) There is a cruise ship arriving and
we are off to watch some Indian dancing in the Longhouse.
We will be leaving Alaska and re-entering Canada in
the early hours Thursday morning
