When we were in Metlakatla on Thursday I got a
message to say that my Mum was ill (she is 94!) I felt I needed to get as
close as possible to Vancouver in case I had to fly back to England.We
left at five am and arrived in Sand Spit Marina on Queen Charlotte Island
at dusk (129 nm)
Spent the night on the fuel quay and were on our
way again by 8am. We have just arrived in God's Pocket, on Hurst Island
(237nm).We are probably two days away from Vancouver and the news is better
today so we can slow down! Had kelp all the way and had to dive to clear the
prop and shaft.The rope cutter is fine on rope but doesn't like
kelp!
