Stocking up in St Martin

Tikka

Monday morning - up early and we managed to clear customs before going through the lifting bridge and into Simpson Bay lagoon. Tikka tentatively motored towards the marina dodging the wrecked yachts left over from Irma, but several times we found ourselves touching the bottom. Irma has changed the depths in the marina so we couldn’t rely on our charts, we called up Island Water World and they sent out a dinghy to pilot us in (channel was only a meter off where we were!). We filled with fuel and tied up, then it was time go go and meet the rest of our Atlantic crew - Augustin and Malin

Augustin had borrowed a van for the day so we all headed to Carrefour for a massive shop (the van was so loaded we needed to put extra air in the tyres)

And it is certainly the longest till receipt we have ever had...

But Tikka is now well very stocked for her journey, both with crew and provisions.

We spent one night in the marina and then headed out through the last lifting bridge of the day

And sailed round to Marigot Bay on the west coast were we spent a rather rocky night before setting off at 5am to sail up to the British Virgin Islands in the company of Flying.

It was a very long day but we had a great sail an this was our first view of the islands

We dropped anchor in Road Town, ready to clear customs in the morning.
