We had one of those unexpected moments today when we were motoring up the
fjord and the engine suddenly stopped. Silence all round in more ways than one.
However, it started again shortly after and it soon became clear that the
problem was fuel supply. So, we changed our destination to an anchorage inside a
long spit off the entrance to Lonafjoerdur where we could change fuel filters
and , if the problem proved to be more serious, exit under sail. The job was a
quick and easy fix once we’d anchored and the place was very pleasant so we
opted to stay the night. We were very close to the steep to shore and enjoyed
watching an arctic fox fail in its athletic attempts to catch an airborn artic
tern before continuing its hillside patrol. |
