Yesterday evening the wind dropped light so we motored north east over night in anticipation of picking up better winds. This had the advantage of charging the batteries and allowing us to run the water maker and top up the tank. Consequently everyone had a good wash after breakfast – never a bad idea. This morning Fi made bread and muffins which were as spectacular as ever. Joe had his first go at taking a sun sight with credible results and as the afternoon wore on the breeze picked up and we gybed onto port to make a little more progress towards the Azores which now lie some 1730 nm ahead. At present we are making just over 5 knots running down wind and the sun is beginning to set. All well on board.
