A busy day in the Indian ocean. Light ESE winds at dawn so we shook out a reef and ran with twin headsails, by 11.00 it had backed E so we took the opportunity to mend a small tear in the head sail by sending Toby up to clew height sitting on the spinnaker pole while the sail was reefed. He enjoyed that and did  good job so we poled out the head sail and had lunch. Then the wind veered and we took the pole down. Then it increased so we put another reef in the main to make it easier on the wind vane. Then it went up to 20 knots so we furled the head sail and now we're bowling along at 7.5 knots on a beam reach with a 3m cross swell under double reefed main and staysail - and while this was going on Fi cooked a batch of ginger nuts and made yoghurt - so all's well on board
