Well, the breeze held up and we had a fast overnight passage which resulted in a 24 hour run of 156nm – not our best but we’re not complaining. The weather has remained clear for the most part although my afternoon sun sight was partly obscured. Last night was the first time in months that we’ve had to wear a fleece after dark. No ships, no whales, no dolphins and no fish today, although 7+ knots is a bit quick for catching dorado. The focus of attention right now is who will win the sweepstake on the time the cockpit gps repeater will start its count down from 999 nm. Joe is hand steering at present trying to squeeze every last drop of speed since his target time comes first. 7 miles to go and counting – results in full tomorrow. All well on board.
