A lumpy first 24 hours with no one getting much sleep. 25 kt S winds gradually eased for a while overnight but are back up into the low 20s now from the S so its a fast reach in 3 m seas. The only ill considered purchase on the catering front – a water melon the size of a basket ball – decided to leap from under the dodger down the main companionway into the aft cabin at around 2300 last night causing some disconflaberation and a bit of a mess. Alison made a valiant attempt at consuming what was left of it but F1 had a different idea and the remains were soon consigned to the deep. A little later a large wave had the same notion and so contributed to the clean up. Today has been fine and sunny with the occasional albatross sighting for Andy and we’ve all caught upon some sleep. Beef bourgignon tonight so all very well on board.
