We have about 3 hours to run in beautiful sunny but calm conditions before arriving in Las Palmas. I was just interrupted while typing this message by the sighting of a very large whale about 100 meters from the boat. Since my last message we landed and stayed overnight at Marina Rubicon on the island of Lanzarote. Yesterday in company with our friends John and Irene we motored down to the bottom Fuerteventura and anchored of a beach resort. Many naked Germans on a very nice sand beach.

Peter caught a small tuna yesterday and Derek turned out a large plate of tuna soused in olive oil, lemon juice, pepper and salt. We have been travelling in company with our friends Irene and John Hunt from "Southern Princess" and they joined us for BBQ and fish dinner.

Derek and Peter have been wonderful company and we will be very sad when they leave us and fly back to the UK. Of course Derek and Bernadine will be back next month to do the Atlantic crossing but be have not been able to persuade Peter to come with us. He has just given up smoking and has been hyperactive, constantly fiddling with all the boat systems usually with great success. He even managed to fix the CD stacker which had become constipated. He also turned the "man overboard" alarm on at o'clock in the morning!
