Just arrived at Suwarrow which has to be one of the most isolated places on earth. The parasailor got a workout yesterday and last night. While it is a handful to set and retrieve when short handed it is stable and requires very little trimming.. We made close to 200 miles in the last 24 hours.

We haven't been ashore yet but the islands look picture postcard and as far as we know there is only resident... the caretaker who arrived here two days ago. The water is crystal clear and inviting. However, while anchoring, a 5ft shark cruised by. As mentioned earlier, we have read and throughly enjoyed An Island to Oneself which is Tom Neal's account of the time he spent here alone for six years. The cottage he built is now used by the caretaker.

The fishing has been disappionting...one tuna lost and a lure, trace and alot of line taken by something really big!

One of the Italian boats in the rally is doing pasta on the beach tonight for 50 people!  We still have fresh lettuce so we will do a salad and we'll take our expresso machine ashore and offer coffee.
