Hi Everyone, hope you are all fine?

Team Lilli Mae are doing well despite yesterday being a tough day.

We are now heading on a more westerly heading after gybing yesterday evening. We had planned to gybe straight after lunch but we had problems getting the chute in. The chute got tangled with our forestay and it took us over an hour to get it free. Then we had trouble setting the spinnaker pole. All-in-all it was a tough one a we lost a few miles as a result of going slow when we were fixing things.

As we write this update (0600 UTC) are sailing at nearly 9 knots in 15 knots of wind. Our heading is toward Trinidad but we have a couple of thousand miles to adjust that! We have our twin head sail configuration set and we will be staying with the set-up probably for the next 5-7 days (possibly longer). We will make a few alterations in course and as we get further west we will have to adjust our sail area to deal with the squalls when they come.

So what else happened yesterday? Oh yes in amongst all the rigging and gybing excitement Pete “caught” 2 fish …….

But they got away. So the trip score in relation to number of fish caught and number landed is 2-nil! And sometimes some of the Lilli Mae crew just wanted a bit of “alone time"

Anyway, that’s it for today.
Thanks for all the messages.
All the best.
