After almost 24 hours of motorsailing the barometer has fallen 5 millibar in 2.5 hours and we're getting some strong winds from the south east. My plan is to stay hard on it and close hauled for as long as possible and when the crew beg for mercy we'll bear off.
The Azores is looking more and more likely now, as we will probably have to refuel. Food and water are fine, so if the intention is to stop then we can all have a shower...but at 30 degrees of heel angle. As for me, I love the smell of BO in the morning. 1191 miles to Azores.
Saw our second ship of the passage this morning. Big old container ship doing 25 knots in the opposite direction...he cameover for a look. Probably thinking, nutters.
I'm looking on the bright side...its not raining and we have a warm southerly wind from the equator. But there's still plenty spray coming over the boat.
