Adrift...becalmed....NO WIND! In between kite up, kite down, squalls we miss and those we dont now we have no f {CHANGE TO AT} #**~g wind. Hot and frustrated I think sums up life on board today.
Ive also done more wipping a splicing in the last few weeks than ever before, the monster chafe really takes a toll on the kite guys and we are always adding new lengths of old hosepipe to guard rails and vulnerable spots where we see lines rubbing.
Whilst I hesitate to jinks myself the replaced steering cable seems to be holding up well and all other systems seem fine on board. It is, however, a full time job keeping everything runing smoothly, so much so that my dreams of 'home improvements' will have to wait until the Caribbean! Anyone who knows me will appreciate it when I say I have a Leatherman shaped callous on my right hand, and I only brought a few dummies with me and have spat most of them so fingers crossed for the next few days!!
On a lighter note Doc 'bog' Bob unleashed the fruit cake today, a gift from Dr Jill Palmer and Jill, I speak for the crew when I say nice one! tasted great, travelled well and was greatly appreciated, cheers!
