To all families and friends, Trish here reporting. Today (now yesterday) we made a
collective decision to conserve fuel in case we need to motor out of a large
area of very light winds forecasted for the near future.(now later tonight) To do this all
electrics have been turned off and therefore all night sailing from around
7.30pm to 6.30am will be in darkness with only the nav and compass lights
on. Changing watch with 11 people dressing and undressing etc in the cabin
4 times during the night in torch light can be quite cosy!
We're happy to say that the blue spinnaker is now hoisted and doing us proud
after many days of stitchwork.
This morning it has been raining and everyone has been making the most of
it: Adam has been rolling around in the puddles on the jib like a
hyperactive puppy dog, Adrian is now clean shaven and totally
unrecognisable, Zoltan is in full foul weather gear, while Sophia has been
looking glamourous dancing around in her bikini. Charles and Chris are strip
washing with very smelly spanish shower cream. And of course our boy Sam is
down to his flowery boardies showing a fair bit of lower body too, in true
Caribbean style! Meanwhile Peter has been sleeping through it all and Dave's
been looking a bit bemused.
The swell has risen and we are enjoying the surf.
We all send our love and best regards.
