When we arrived in Bequia we only had very preliminary plans for Christmas, but these soon gelled and in company with Nordlys and Moonsong RCC we arranged to use the garden terrace of a bar which was closed on Christmas Day for our Christmas Dinner.

Christmas Dinner at the Green Boley.

We invited the crews of three other yachts to join us and everyone contributed.  Chris and Annette boned a turkey which was cooked on the Nordlys bbq and we cooked loin of pork on the new Oriole bbq. Trinidad Rum Cake is an excellent substitute for Christmas pudding and does not need a microwave or hours in a steamer and goes down very well with rum butter.  These were only part of a wonderfully full menu. There was even enough to feed a few locals who just happened to turn up looking hungry!!

Sunday morning walking party.

Normal Boxing Day activity took place and we attempted to walk off our gastronomic excesses with limited success but today we engaged Martine, a very lively and enthusiastic French guide living in Bequia, to take a group of us on an off piste walk.  We explored the wild side of Bequia using paths and tracks we would never have discovered on our own and returned thoroughly exhausted and hungry again.

We suspect that on any day you would have Anse La Coite to yourself.

Andrew arrived here on Saturday in Sea Shuttle and we have been visited several times by their very smart tender.

We are planning to leave to go north a the next few days as the winds are forecast to die down a bit and should be able to meet up again with Sea Shuttle in Antigua. WE WISH EVERYONE A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
