Still nah wind!
Oriole
Sun 13 Feb 2005 14:20
More light airs sailing this week. Firstly
from Martinique to St Lucia to meet Andrew and Katherine as well as some other
spare parts.
The new floor for the dinghy had arrived as had the
new bit for our sailing instruments all of which are now working. The small
confines of Oriole have accomodated the new crew with no trouble at all and it
has been great to have them with us. Katherine has done a lot of sailing and
Andrew hot from his superyacht in the Mediteranean has been shining everything
within reach and Oriole is gleaming. Unfortunately the weather is still very
strange with very little wind and often overcast with a lot of rain. We still
have a trough over the Eastern Caribbean Islands which refuses to move away but
is now gradually decaying. However we are struggling on and we had a great sail
back over to Martinique and are enjoying being back in France with a lovely
beach close at hand and croissants, baguettes, and chique young ladies in
abundance. No doubt there are some suave young men too but I have not noticed
them.
Rum tasting!!!!
Andrew says he thinks that the old man is
mellowing in his old age and that life aboard Oriole before the mast is almost
tolerable.
