We are now getting to the end of the refit
after 3 weeks of hard work, the major part of which is chasing people to do jobs
that are no longer fun to do ourselves particularly at 46°C such as scrubbing the bottom
and antifouling and polishing the topsides. Most of the hard work is now
done, Oriole was launched a week ago and we hope to be finished by the end of
this week and ready to go.

out mode (air conditioning unit beneath the boom tent).
Meanwhile Chaguaramas is extremely sociable
at this time of year and we have been meeting friends most evenings for supper
in one of the very reasonably priced restaurants close by. We awarded ourselves
a day off yesterday (Sunday) which we spent at the Kelshall holiday
house on Monas, one of the small islands to the west of Trinidad,
swimming, and liming and being well fed and watered. We plan to leave
Trinidad early next week en route for Antigua and family Christmas with Andrew
and Robert and Dani. Andrew phoned us today as Mirabella V was entering
the Straits of Gibraltar heading for the Canaries and we should all arrive in
Antigua about a week before Christmas. Robert and Dani fly in about then
for a month with us.
