yesterday! For those of you in the UK it may not have escaped your notice
that you have had a great big high pressure system sitting over you for the
last ten days which should be down here, instead we have had low pressure,
SW winds and rain - this is not what we came for. As you can imagine we
are studying the weather maps with interest hoping to get a more settled
weather pattern for going to Madeira and the Canaries. There are now quite
a lot of boats around waiting to do the same passage so as soon as the
weather changes there will be a mass exodus south. However we have
thoroughly enjoyed our time in Lagos meeting old friends and making new.
Andrew, in particular, has enjoyed going out in the evenings to find other
young company!
We hired a car on one of the days and went exploring further down the coast
and then up into the mountains and in true RCC fashion had a bar-b-que and
boules match one evening. John fitted a new depth transducer as the old one
was being nursed through its dying throes. We are now at anchor in a
delightful inlet surrounded at low water by sand flats and narrow channels,
we plan to spend today here exploring ashore.
