After last week's overcast English Channel type
sailing we have been back to typical Caribbean Tradewind conditions with a
few white puffy clouds and brisk winds kicking up a sparkling sea.
![]() ![]() We made fast progress with our clean bottom, moving
on every day and stopping for the night in Rodney Bay, St Lucia; Anse Mitan,
Martinique; Prince Rupert Bay, Dominica; Deshaies, Guadaloupe and finally
Falmouth Harbour Antigua where Mirabella V's mast could be seen 10 miles
out.

Guadaloupe.
Our final sail to Antigua was in strong
winds, big seas and just off the wind,
but now that we have all electric winches the poor old geriatrics can just
about manage. Mirabella V, with Mate Andrew aboard, was anchored at the
entrance to Falmouth and gave us two loud blasts on her siren as we arrived and
pirouetted around her. Robert and Dani had arrived by air earlier in the
day and we repaired to local hostelries to celebrate a family reunion. We
have sailed nearly 500 miles since we left Trinidad 9 days ago
and its time for a little rest and recuperation.
