Liming for the uninitiated means relaxing and not doing very much.  Well - since we arrived here a week ago we have moved anchorage once into Ricketts Harbour but the roll was uncomfortable and the site of the wrecked yacht on the reef a little too sobering so we moved back again.  We have however completed a few maintenance jobs, read a few books and have been swimming, snorkling and walking on Green Island (strictly forbidden as it is leased to the exclusive Mill Reef Club!)  So we think we qualify for a liming medal.

Sunrise 0600 Sunday 21st February

Our only real bit of excitement was before breakfast time a few days ago when a catamaran leaving the bay ran up on a reef and we had to go to help them get off.  This morning another catamaran drove up on another reef but managed to get himself off.  The usual complaint is that the charts on the electronic chart plotter are not accurate which considering the surveys for this area were done in 1852 is not surprising.  Yachtsmen are advised to use Mark 1 Eyeball 2010 version as the most reliable method of pilotage through the reefs. We had better watch our step!  The weather has remained unusually tranquil (10-12 knots during the day and less at night) and there have been predominently clear skies.

Velsheda at sunset.

We have had one or two visits from celebrity yachts - Velsheda, the beautifully restored J Class yacht anchored close by, which John first saw as a wreck in a mud berth on the Hamble 45 years ago;  Sea Shuttle, now with a delivery skipper and crew anchored next to us last evening. They have just left for their Atlantic crossing to Palma for Sea Shuttle to be sold.  Meanwhile ex skipper Andrew is in Chamonix doing what one does in Chamonix.

Sea Shuttle en route for Palma.

Our liming now has to stop for the time being.  The RORC Caribbean 600 Race starts tomorrow off English Harbour and we are returning to see the start of that and prepare for the arrival of our next guests on Thursday.
