This is the rock-n-rolliest place we’ve stayed in. Hands down. I guess there’s a reason Spanish Town was the BVIs first capital and not Road Town… I can just imagine the wig-wearing admiral.. ‘Blow it man! Do I have to feel at sea when the anchor is sitting on the ground?’ There’s even a sailboat in front of us whose owner seems to have given up entirely. She’s swinging from her mooring ball, her boom heaving from side to side. We’ve discovered the law of unloved sailboats is the more neglected they are, the more they cry out for attention. Bang, bang, bang.. It’s so piteously sad. Especially when you’re parked right next to her. Mental note, Quest!

So to our poor Pirate Black Toe... Quest baptises her and she has to sleep in the world’s rolliest mooring field… ‘I want to be clear,’ she stated yesterday, ’not a word of complaint from me.’ That’s mothers for you. Smarter than paint. Even though it’s windy, even though the potatoes make symphonies in the middle of the night, even though I had to get up at 4 am to figure out that tapping noise everything time we leaned a certain way and discovered it was our umbrella. Of all things! For Pirate Black Toe this is sweating the small stuff. She’s too busy cleaning up at Quest’s blackjack table. ‘Good bluffing,’ the Cap and first mate, Lu conceded last night. ‘Thank you,’ she said.

Love from Quest and her crew xx
