Antigua! Muggie and Gareth, Quest's shore crew :) flying in on Tuesday. We anchored in Falmouth Bay on Monday afternoon about three minutes from their hotel. After congratulating ourselves for our safe passage, we immediately began to bicker. It’s helpful to do this when you’re hoping to fit into your new neighbourhood… Just makin’ sure no one would be tempted to talk to us. Perhaps the other yachties look at our Welsh ensign and shake their heads understandingly :)

We went to Nelson’s Harbour to check in. This consisted of wading our way through the super yachts to the the dinghy dock. Super yachts everywhere! Nelson’s modern fleet is in full force, made up of Russian billionaires and Silicon Valley success stories. Surely, Nelson would have been proud… Wait! It turns out that we'd turned up in Antigua during an in-house industry shin-dig, a hobnobbing of happy investors and industry officials. A boat show! 

‘Does this mean we can board the boats?’ Delphine stared hopefully at a 100 metre powdered grey yacht which has turned their storage lazarette into another wooden deck with quick access to a port-side panic room. ‘Do the owners go in there when Gregory’s trying to sell them bananas?’ Jack wondered. 

‘Does this mean we can’t go on the super yachts?’ Delphine had noticed the security guards guarding the gangway. She kicked the ground in disappointment. ‘Come on, Delph,’ Lu said, ‘we couldn’t bring Fin on anyway.’ Delphine glared at her. Fin didn’t look too worried about this snub, having discovered a cat nearby. She was now focusing every cell in her body trying to reach it. This was strange considering that cats were strolling past her at the vet’s last week in Grenada when we went to pick her up. Then she just looked slightly embarrassed. While Delphine whined, ‘I want to see the super yacht!’ Fin strained at every inch of her lead. I looked up at the super yacht’s panic room. Did they have room for one more?
