We had a tornado on Thursday. There were two claps of thunder and then the wind went crazy, like a cow could be thrown against the window any second and wed be taken to the land of Oz. The roof of the Surrey Cafe blew off two doors down. Fallen trees blocked the road on the other side. We looked up at the sky. Had he not finished with us yet?

It was great to see everyone. Besides the faithful, the two dodgiest men in Aberystwyth; the solicitor and the actor :). The hairy Borth fishermen and the high-winds house painter. The postman. Young men in white shirts. The French contingent who know everything about us. The lady with a moustache. Cousins. Nieces and nephews, loved ones, people who had driven through the mountains for just an hour to say good-bye. Everyone with the same story. 'He told me I was a c*** and he had my back. He was larger-than-life and the softest-eyed of men. More terrible than a tornado and the nicest man I knew. He was human.'

Grandpa. What a day.

Love from Quest and her land-based crew xx
