Hi Everybody,

As I write this, the full moon is a yellow headlight overhead and a flying fish has just landed onto the side of the boat and is quivering like a piece of string in the wind. In fact I thought it was string until it jumped back up with a practical gasp and bounced back in the water!

The captain is stretched out at my feet on the cockpit floor. All he needs to do is start chomping off the heads of those flying fish and he will be giving Bear Grylls a run for his money re:outdoor living. Only Fin is curled up next to him. Could we pretend she's a baby bear he's rescued from the clutches of a shark? Cause sharks don't really like anything that hairy..

John has gone to bed down below after his night watch and so should be feeling he's in a washing machine about now. I think back and remember the look on his face In Las Palmas when he arrived. He thought he was having a holiday! Ha! What a sucker.

I've found the best place to sleep when the boat's trying to rinse you clean is wedged at the bottom of the girls' bed. I get Delphine's toes in my face and Lulu playing tootsies with my arms. If you're lucky you get Merliah Summers' pointers up your nose!

Just checked the trip total: 906 nm. Just over half way to go. We should be hitting (not figuratively of course) the Mid-Atlantic Ridge soon; the longest mountain chain in the world.

Love from Quest and her crew xx
