Position: 16:49.100N 045:57.786W Hi Everybody, All is well on Quest here as we dry out from our water dumping the other day. The Chinese laundry has been removed without further incident (yet), the girls have moved to the en-suite front cabin in what looks like a permanent change as their cabin dries, John has suddenly been forced to quit smoking and inadvertently has entered the de-tox Atlantic cruise ('Don't worry'; he says darkly, 'sucking on filter tips helps'), the captain is still sleeping under the stars like park benches have gone out of style and even Fin has joined in with the whole concept, becoming a seriously comfy pillow. We had another set of little gifts from Poseidon for reaching our halfway mark, what a morale booster this is! Glad I listened to the king of sailing, Jimmy Cornell about doing this with kids before I went over and bored him to death about lemon shark conservation. Jack thinks I set a new record in making someone's eyes glaze over. I say what's boring about lemon sharks?! ;) The sea is still rolling her mountainous swells from behind like she's playing bowling with us and Quest is surfing down them, sometimes elegantly and other times careering from one side to the other like she's in fits of giggles. From sitting like a neglected teenager in a marina in Gosport almost four years ago to this, she really is becoming the Queen of the Waves! Our new 'regular' feature, things heard on Quest recently: Delphine: 'I knew you got us Barbie's sister, Skipper! You guys are the best!' Lulu: 'Do you really think I can sit GCSE maths at 14?' Jack: 'There's water in the bilges! Wait, who forgot to turn the shower pump on?' Hannah: 'Maybe we should have bought a de-fibrillator onboard.' John: 'I didn't realise how long this crossing would be.' Skipper: 'What a sucker.' Love from Quest and her crew xx |
