During my childhood, there were lots of long flights over the Atlantic when you had two movies and you couldn’t choose. Can you imagine that now? Lulu may believe that stewardesses are only employed within certain hairstyle criteria but this historical entertainment fact is not possible! I spent a lot of time staring down at that enormous blue. Do you really feel you're in the middle of nowhere down there? Is it sad that I've had to sail it to say for sure? Probably but still, I can confirm now that Grenada Marine has nothing over this place. Then, flying over the Atlantic on Wednesday night was so strange. It was bumpy and the view of our wing trying to do a rendition of the Mambo No. 5 made me close the shade and hold Delphine’s hand. She was sitting next to me. It was like being in an angry space rocket. I couldn’t figure out how any one could think it was fun. I kept asking myself if I’m extra sensitive to wind now or if it was absolutely roaring out there? The plane’s answer was a dip and a judder and a fume. Maybe sailing isn’t so different, I suddenly thought. Always this element of the unknown; you set things up, you get in there and wait for the conditions to tell you how to react. It’s your job to hold on to the seat of your pants. It made me remember. Up close.

Quest’s stern being smacked by the swell or so heeled over that the oven sticks. Are you sure the gimbal is working? Is this what level really is?
The kettle shrieking yes.
Make tea in the sink, no not IN the sink.
The sea licking us like it was trying to taste freshwater while George, the auto-pilot beeped resignedly.
He was our only light at night except for four million stars above. Constellations? A Hounslow education just never afforded that kind of luxury when we were studying businesses on the Great West Rd.
Maybe I can learn them one day. Wait, who am I kidding?
You’re lucky to remember which way to turn into the wind when the wind arrow is behind us. Oh s*** Jack’s looking. Act like you already know how to do it.
Hold on!

Meanwhile, sorry Lu but you gotta keep walking..

Love from Quest and her crew xx
