Anchor up at 7:35 this morning and we are on our way.

As we entered the gulf we noticed the wind was right off our port side, perfect for sailing. But wait it’s only blowing 4 knots. When day sailing in Galveston Bay anything less than 8 knots means it’s time to start the motor, but we are here to sail so up goes the sails and off goes the motor.

Two hours and 5 miles later (about noon) as the wind died we gave in and started the motor – been motoring ever since. The weather forecast I have says the winds won’t return until early tomorrow morning.

Other than the winds all is well.
