Vero Beach

Friday November 19, 2010 We’ve been in Vero Beach for a week now getting the boat ready to head to the Bahamas. There were some maintenance things as well as grocery shopping to be done. Most of the maintenance stuff is done and we’ve started the shopping. All should be wrapped up the week after Thanksgiving and then we’ll start waiting for a weather window to head for the Bahamas. Vero Beach has a nice, well protected, mooring field. Here’s a picture of it I took early one morning. The city also likes to get their monies worth out of their moorings crowding in as many boats as possible like this They will put up to three boats on a mooring. One heck of a way a to get to meet someone new. So far we haven’t had anyone tied up next to us. If someone does I hope they like cats because ours will be sure to visit them. Of all the moorings, in all the world, this boat had to park next to us.
In all of the continental United States there are only 10 Chanticleer’s registered with the Coast Guard and two of them are now next to each other. Figure the odds. |
