The weather gods let us know we needed to get back to George Town. We had hoped to continue on to Cat Island, but the winds were going to blow out of the west and there isn’t a good place to hide from west winds on Cat Island.

The good side of returning to George Town was the sail. We went 40 miles in five and a half hours – that’s an average speed of over 7 knots. (I plan our passages at 5 knots) It was a great sail. Since we were with another boat we had a photo-op as we went by them.

It sure is nice to have lots of sail up.

On Tuesday April 5,2011 we start are trip north. First stop is Black Point  for 2 nights then Compass Cay for 2 nights then one other night in the Exumas and then onto Nassau by Sunday the 10th. This is a five day plan which, for us, is considered long term, but we want to be back in the states by April 20th so we can re-provision and be on our way to Guatemala buy 1 May.
