Dartmouth

TC has had a cracking day sail today! It was windy in the anchorage so we put in 1st reef in the main and then played with the jib in and out as needed. This worked well as we had 25 knots over the deck towards the end so were grateful not to be overpowered.

With wind behind we sailed with a poled-out jib, TC rocked and rolled for almost the full 8 hours, which was exhilarating in the warm sun. We are experimenting this evening to see if we can upload a very short video of the rolling, it is difficult to capture it on film but it gives you a gist.

Likewise, we had a few beautiful Dolphin pods visit, but they were all too slippery and quick to be caught on camera so we wont share the splashes this time.

Nice to return to familiar Dartmouth, doesn’t feel like 3 ½ months since we were here. If it was busy in April, it is manic in August.

Following on from the fabulous Minchin gathering at the weekend, Bol’s cousins Jonathan and Laura joined us for tea/happy hour/supper in the sunny cockpit. It is so wonderful when timings work out and huge fun to sit and catch up with them properly.

Just the one night here, and off again at dawn.
