Ribeira do Vascão

We had a party invite for lunch today back at the Mesquita Bar to celebrate several birthdays of those we met yesterday. Much sadness however to wake and find Harry with a migraine, so the party went ahead without us and we had a quiet morning on board.

He was better after lunch and so as planned we left Pomarão and motored one mile south. We are now back at the entrance of the Ribeira do Vascão, anchored by the big Eucalyptus in anticipation of visiting the Vascão again tomorrow at the highest tide of the year. We are looking forward to floating over the Roman wier, seeing more terrapins, and seeing how far up the river we can reach.

We had a very relaxed 'happy hour' ashore listening to the amazing birdsong during twilight and by the time we paddled back to TC all was quiet and the birds had (presumably) fallen asleep. The only sound now is fish jumping and occasional canya reeds scratching their way down the side of TC  as they flow past in the current.
