Ullapool
057:53.635 N Ullapool Bol was rewarded with an Otter sighting first thing this morning, it was fishing its way along the shallow shore amongst the kelp. He also heard breathing before he saw a Seal pass right by the boat, an inquisitive chap that ducked away before anyone could grab a camera. So we were up and away from our gem of an anchorage in The Summer Isles after a night of torrential rain, which left behind fine mist. When this lifted, looking out west behind us we could just make out the Outer Hebrides on the horizon. There was the hint of blue sky above them initially, this slowly but surely came our way and by the time we’d ghosted downwind to Ullapool, the entire town was in bright sunshine. What a special moment to have Harry arrive in Ullapool. We celebrated with an ice cream overlooking the harbour in the evening sunshine; Loch Broom was bathed in evening light and the boats on the moorings were reflected in the mirror-calm waters. A great day for Harry to set foot in Scotland for the first time. |
