Falmouth
050:09.461 N Falmouth Hot sunshine meant the day had to start with a swim. Took a sponge and tidied the waterline, skipper happy with that. The swim delayed our start so by the time we got going a breeze had kicked in enabling us to sail, skipper happy with that too. We also almost dodged the rain that had Falmouth in total white out, it seemed to be moving westward and soon Helford River was in white out. However, we slowly went from shorts & t-shirt to full oilskins as, in the end, there was no dodging of rain, but it didn’t last long. Very pleasing to sail right into the area of moorings and we have picked up a chunky looking one which should do us for a couple of nights. Nice walk ashore back in glorious sunshine once again. Falmouth is much busier now than in April but a great atmosphere in town with buskers filling the street with great music, and the fabulous smells of cooking all around from so many eateries all buzzing with visitors. We have plans for another mini adventure tomorrow so have been preparing for that all afternoon. |
