Dale Bay anchorage
We’re planning another night at anchor here, so had the day ashore in Dale today.
This is a very peaceful spot tucked in the corner of Milford Haven with some character houses. It has paths leading through a wooded area which we meandered along, enjoying the spring flowers and the incredible birdsong, also spotted our first gecko sunning itself.
TC looked very small through the trees, anchored alone in this huge natural harbour.
After lunch ashore and sampling some (more!) locally made ice creams, we returned to the boat for some tlc;
Bol oiled ‘Geoff’ our Aeries wind-vane (aka our third crew member) who does such a great job; steers for hours on end; no complaints, no food needed, doesn’t get bored, the least we can do is give Geoff some 3-in-1 oil on his joints from time to time.
Last winter Bol redid the wooden cockpit seating so likes to re-oil it from time to time, it makes such a difference and helps keep TC looking cared for.
Now rocking gently at anchor waiting for the wind to come.
