Stromness IV

Beautiful sunshine all day, we kept pinching ourselves that we were in the Orkneys as we removed the layers and got down to t-shirts (and Harry into shorts).

Pretty relaxed day, Harry went fishing, Bol did boat repairs and we did boat admin whilst catching the lines of new boats arriving into the marina.

We scored a bottle of wine for removing six ticks from our neighbour’s dog, we think she picked them up in Kinlochbervie. She was so trusting and kept very still, especially the one on her eyelid, must have known we were trying to help.

As promised, Harry’s wildlife photos are below all taken yesterday at Skara Brae beach. He was using a Nikon D7100 with a 70-300mm lens donated very kindly by the Cowes photographer Christian Beasley; the speed of the birds was challenging (except the neolithic rabbit who was totally oblivious to us as he nibbled the grass around the neolithic houses), but it is definitely less challenging than taking photos on a rocking rolling Thursday’s Child!
