050:09.265 N 005:01.017 W St Mawes We had an earlier start today to get the most of the west going ebb tide; passing Plymouth breakwater as dawn broke into a beautiful sunrise. After motoring for a while the wind came up from behind and we had a good trip west. There is a wide and welcoming entrance to Falmouth Harbour, we kept right towards St Mawes to anchor for one night. Dartmouth was busy with rowing boats and ferries, Falmouth Harbour is buzzing with dinghies and classics; we’re right in the thick of it being anchored near St Mawes sailing club’s start line. Of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ fame, the Sailing Vessel IRENE has just ghosted past us adding to a certain serenity to the place. All is good on Thursday’s Child. |
