If towns are to be judged by their showers, then Dartmouth is currently winning, exceptionally hot, powerful and free, most impressive;
Dartmouth 5/5
Yarmouth 4/5
Weymouth 1/5

The gale continues to make its presence feel all along the south coast, so another day hiding up the River Dart.

A bittersweet day for us as Harry returned to Warwick Uni for his third year exams next week, next sighting will be in September. For some light relief, we travelled on the steam train with him from Kingswear to Paignton, travelling in the Observation Carriage at the front. A lovely step back in time before he continued north on the mainline train. We will miss his company, his cooking, his hawk-eye observations and his strength.

Back to TC and upstream to the ‘Anchor Stone’ area for a couple of nights. Sadly, the engine overheated again, so Bol is preparing to strip it down. He has been working on this engine for 30+ years so fingers crossed he finds the problem. We have until Saturday to sort it, as that is looking hopeful for our next hop westward along the coast.
